Guys, we're finally out!! After watching Brandt another twenty-four hours and not seeing any more de-sats (yay!), they decided that he's finally solid enough with his vitals and sats to send home!

I can't tell you what a cool feeling it was to pick him up with no cords or tubes attached for the first time since the few hours after he was born. We even took a walk down the hall to the linen closet together after he spit up all over his last blanket to get a new one, and later met up with one of our old roommates...a little four year old boy that just had the last surgery that Brandt will eventually have! It was fun to see them again. We were only in the same room for one night (they had to go back up to the ICU for a little bit after that), but his mom and I had a very good time chatting while they were there, and we were sad to see them leave!
By the way, did I ever mention that during our week in the shared room we had not one but SIX roommates?! Goodness sake. But I digress.
We took off right after we were discharged for Oregon. We couldn't wait to see Wade! It had been a good two weeks since the last time we had seen him, and we were just as excited to see him as he was to see us! I swear, all the squeals were from him, though...

After three weeks of nothing but baby snuggles, my once "cute little toddler" is now an absolute monster, and is nearly formulating sentences to boot! He's absolutely smitten with his new little brother, though, and constantly asks to hold him or help with his bottle. Here's hoping that his affection isn't just a short-lived thing....it's an awful cute thing to watch!

We're spending the day today with Tanner's parents...a nice relaxing time to regroup before we head home. And then we've got a two day trip ahead of us! Life starts up again for real Monday morning, when Tanner heads back to work and Brandt has his first follow-up appointment with Dr. Ruggierie.
You sure have three adorable guys in your life Kara!! Safe travels, and much love from the Hunters :)
